Today Angel turns four years old, and he is as spunky as he was the day we brought him home.
But from now on, Angel will have to share his birthday with my new step-grandson who was born at 3:00pm today.
Happy Birthday to both, and may there be many more to come.
Jeff, you're a GRANDPA? Grampy Jeff--that has a nice ring to it.
Congratulations, my old friend! (Emphasis on the OLD.)
Posted by: Frank L. at October 23, 2005 6:32 PMMy step-daughter has had a hard time accepting me as her step-father. She still refers to me as, "my mom's husband". She doesn't dislike me, she just refuses to see me as a family member. If you aren't blood, you aren't a member of the family.
Therefore, I am not the child's grandpa. At least in the eye's of his mother. Still, I held him before his biological grandfather did, and I took the first pictures of him.
I don't have a need to be referred to as his grandpa, in fact I never felt a ned to be called "dad", but to me this little guy is family.
Posted by: Jeff at October 25, 2005 8:52 AMMy dad is actually my step-dad, but I hate it when people say that. But he's been my dad since I was two.
I like what you said about your step-grandson being family. My step-grandmother didn't call me anything really. And that kind of hurt. It's all just titles and what really matters what's in the heart. I didn't feel I was in her heart, but I can tell that baby is already in yours!
And Happy Birthday to Angel!
Kids are nice, but DOGS RULE! Happy Birthday to both little Angels.
