Jackie's arch nemesis, Twinkie, is back in town and staying with us. Twinkie and her human mommie got in late, so I wasn't able to take any photographs. The reunion looked much like an earlier post I did back in May, so I am cutting and pasting this week's entry. And now, without further ado, (and from last May,)....
This week I am going to be lazy and just post a bunch of pictures, but skip the narrative. There is a theme though. Midget Wrestling...
Check in next week for a new chapter in The Adventures of Angel and Jacqueline. And don't forget to check out the Carnival of the Dogs at Mickey's Musings, and the Friday Ark at The Modulator for more interesting animals.
Posted by Jeff at August 25, 2006 8:54 AMI know it looks vicious .. but I also know they are having great fun. I am still kicking around the idea of getting Coco a playmate.
Posted by: Coll at August 29, 2006 7:30 AMI wish we had gotten Angel a little sister/brother earlier because it may have put a damper on some of his behavioral problems, the worst of which is barking. Angel barks at ANYTHING he hears outside.
My wife and I both work, and so Angel was left alone for extended periods of time after about his first six months or so. My wife had a job that allowed her to bring him with her, but by the time he reached six months she couldn't bring him any more. I can't help but feel that had he a playmate he wouldn't have suffered separation anxiety to the degree he apparently did.
If Coco has someone to spend time with for most of the day, then I would think he would be fine. Still, there is no better playmate for the little guy than another little dog. They are also so much fun to watch when they play together.
Angel is a little too big for Jackie. He is almost four times her weight, and can push her around pretty easily. Twinkie is just the right size for her, but is too aggressive. I often have to rescue my little princess from Twinkie.
But Jackie LOVES her big brother. She MUST be with him 24/7, so in that regard they go well together. I never realized that the social dynamics of your pets can be so complicated, but it is still one of the more rewarding complications in my life.
Posted by: Jeff at August 29, 2006 2:28 PMCoco does have Bear to keep him company and Coco does love Bear. But it is not quite an equal admiration society. I think Bear often wishes that he were an only child :-)
