Angel and Jacqueline and the Quest for Grass

I have been busy lately trying to get as much together as I can in anticipation of the big move. Our current residence is listed, and we are looking for a house with a big backyard where little dogs can romp, play, and lay in the cool grass to their hearts content.

My wife and I are pretty jazzed about finding the house of our dreams with a fantastic kitchen for her, and a decidedly 1940s feel for me, but we also want a yard for our dogs. Both Jackie and Angel love the grass, and to have their own backyard where they could go to whenever they felt like it would be another dream come true. They could spend more time outside, and when inside they would have warm, soft carpet to lay on. (Our present abode has laminated flooring throughout. Easy to clean, rough to sleep or run on with four feet with nails.)

Because of this, I haven't been taking a whole lot of pictures. Therefore, I thought since there has been so much thought of the dogs having there very own patch of grass, I would post some pictures of them in the grass field we walk to every once in a while. So, without further ado....

Little Jacqueline in her ex-favorite sweater in the freshly rained-on grass looking as lovely as can be.
Angel just stands around trying to look dapper. He refused his sweater that day.
Jackie loves dandelions, when she can find them. They are her favorite thing to eat while out on her walk. She can differentiate between varieties, and is especially fond of the yellow tops. She will eat them when they have gone to seed, and become fluffy and white, but she concentrates on the stem at that stage, and when she has finished it looks like she has a white beard. I have tried for a long time to get a decent picture of her like that, but I have yet to be successful. In any case, when no dandelions are available, searching for bugs can be almost as entertaining.
Angel continues to try to be dapper.

Check in next week for a new chapter in The Adventures of Angel and Jacqueline. And don't forget to check out the Carnival of the Dogs at Mickey's Musings, and the Friday Ark at The Modulator for more interesting animals.

Such well behaved puppies. Good luck on the move. Traumatic all around.

They are lucky, and so are you, to have each other. :-)

Hopefully your search will soon be over and your furry off springs will have the exact yard they want. Unfortunately for Brandy we have a lot of grass but no fence so running free is not an option.

When I first got Coco he was a rescued dog with many fears. Initially he was afraid of grass and refused to walk on it. This so shocked me. What kind of life had he been living that he was afraid of grass? I felt so sorry for the little guy. But you should see him now. He loves his backyard and will sniff the grass for hours.. especially if we have been recently visited by a bunny family. Now the only time he refuses to walk on the grass is after a rain. He just doesn't like to get those princely paws wet :-).

How wonderful that Jackie and Angel may soon have their own patch of grass. Nice for you too. :-)

Jeff, I'm not sure if you know it or not, but your name is listed as a contributor in John Walston's new book, The Buzzword Dictionary. You're listed on page 223.

I'm listed on page 222.
