Thalia took over the pillow built for two last night, and I thought some people might enjoy seeing her pictures. I admit I have favored the dogs for quite a while now, and I really have no excuse as to why. Maybe it's because they are such attention whores, and they follow me around as if I were their mother duck. Whatever the case, it is just the way it works out, so, there ya have it...
More cats can be found at the Friday Ark, and at the Carnival of the Cats.
Jackie is almost two and a half years old. She has been going on walks with Angel and I since she was maybe four months old. Like most dogs, Jackie loves the great outdoors; she explores her world mostly with her nose, but she loves to see what the world has to offer as well. She will often refuse to walk, and hold her ground until I relent and pick her up, and carry her. It's not because she is tired or lazy, but because she wants to see the world from on-high. She wants to see the world from the perspective of being way up off the ground.
Because she is so interested in her world I am amazed it took her so long to figure out grass. It's not like she has never had any experience with it before; it exists wherever we walk, and we often would sit and relax in one of the grassy areas that border our walkways. But until recently she never caught on to the fact that grass can be cool and comforting. Now that she has, I can hardly get her past a patch of grass of any size, as the next few photos will show...
What Jackie and Angel don't know is that we are considering buying a house soon, and when we do they will finally have their own grass to do with as they please. (We haven't told them yet because it isn't official, so don't tell them!!)

I bought this pillow for Jacqueline and Angel because it was on sale at Disney Direct, but I thought it was much smaller. In fact, I honestly think the one I ordered was the smaller one, (it came in three sizes,) but they may have sent me this big one by mistake. Once out of the package, I figured that while it is bigger than what I expected, it would still be a great place for the dogs because it's very fluffy, and firm. They will be comfortable without sinking straight to the floor.
Because it is so large, it has been banished from the living room. It is now in our bedroom, and Jackie and Angel both love it, but rarely are both on it at the same time. As you will see, Jackie likes to sleep next to her big brother, Angel. However, Angel was an only child for a couple of years before the blessed event we now call Jacqueline came along, so he grew accustomed to lying around the house wherever he wanted, and always alone. So, while Angel will tolerate Jackie snuggling up with him sometimes, more often than not, should Jackie approach him, he will simply get up and go lie down elsewhere.
Before that happened last night, I got a few shots off of them together on the pillow built for two...
Check in next week for a new chapter in The Adventures of Angel and Jacqueline. I think it's my last week of my guardianship of the Carnival of the Dogs over at Mickey's Musings, so go take a peek. And of course do check in at the Friday Ark at The Modulator for more interesting animals.
Like most everyone else, there is sort of an evening ritual associated with going to bed around our house. It usually begins with me taking our two heroes outside so that they can go potty. Afterwards I bring them both upstairs to our bedroom, brush my teeth or do whatever I need to do to prepare for bed.
Angel and Jacqueline are very much like little human kids, and one of the more obvious similarities they share with human kids is how they act at bedtime. Just like a little kid struggles to stay up late at night, or tries to convince his parents to let him stay up "just a little longer", Angel and Jackie run around and play with each other when they should be lying in their beds asleep. But, I am a patient person, and so I will watch a little TV, or read a book for a while as they wear themselves out.
So, today we will look at a few pictures of a typical evening just before bed with Angel and Jacqueline. (With a special appearance by Thalia, their favorite feline sister.)

For some odd reason, Jackie enjoys a good ear cleansing. Not her own ears mind you, but those of any other warm blooded being that has ears accessible to a little dog with a long tongue.
We learned this about Jacqueline soon after we brought her home. I remember holding her up close to my face, (because nothing is as special as holding a little warm furry doggie up against one's cheek,) and her promptly putting one paw on my cheek to balance herself, and then plunging her tongue right into the old ear canal. At first it was a bit repulsive, but as time went on it became endearing, and so now one of Jacqueline's official duties is that of Ear Cleaner.
